Hi there, beautiful being!

I am neha and i call myself the hippie rootling - the soul behind rustic roots - wandering between digital, physical and wooden canvases to share my rustic thoughts & feelings. I am an illustrator, currently living and working in Queens, NYC. I spend my days balancing life between work, art and my love for storytelling through sketch and words.

By the day, I work as a digital marketeer, helping brands grow their retail presence. The rest of the time, you’ll find me in my creative nook.

While my grown-up self followed the so-called “usual” paths of adulthood, I’ve always felt most myself when I’m drawing, creating, and letting my inner world spill onto a page. For almost a decade, I’ve been sketching, scrapping, and learning - slowly polishing my skills and training my hands to stay steady.. even when I overdo the coffee... pun fully intended :D

Art is always on my mind - I even find myself doodling through the work meeting notes ᵕ̈ 

Well finally, at the beginning of 2025, I felt this deep pull to carve out a space where I could simply be - to pour out my creative spirit without filters. And so, Rustic Roots was born. Through it, I share my drawing practice, behind-the-scenes, and glimpses of the journey on social media and beyond.

These days, I’m working on showing up to the page every day - even if all I draw is a tiny little dot. This space is my attempt to stay grounded in what feels true, raw, and beautifully simple. And if art whispers to you in the same soulful way - bringing you closer to yourself - I hope you’ll feel at home here too.
